Contracts Manager

Mary Consolate Ndagire, in her role as a Contracts Manager, collaborates closely with University researchers and Tech Comm staff to draft, negotiate, and finalize agreements, as well as conducting research to ascertain the potential transferability of intellectual property. She evaluates agreement requirements with support from the Office of General Counsel, negotiates non-standard agreements, and collaborates with OGC and Tech Comm staff to address legal queries regarding agreement provisions.

Before transitioning to Technology Commercialization in 2024, Consolate worked for various prestigious law firms spanning various jurisdictions. Her responsibilities included drafting legal documents, conducting due diligence for prominent mergers, advising on company restructuring and facilitating intricate transactions. She provided legal opinions and delivered insightful legal assessments for technology industry leaders with a special focus on data privacy regulations to prominent organizations such as Microsoft, Facebook and Google, among others. Additionally, Consolate's responsibilities included managing trademark portfolios as well as collaborating with affiliated firms across Africa to ensure comprehensive registration, licensing, and assignment of intellectual property rights.

Consolate holds a Master’s degree in law from the University of Colorado – Boulder with a specialization in Intellectual Property, Technology, and Telecommunications Law, as well as a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University.
