Commercialization Policies

Commercialization of Intellectual Property Policy: Governs patents and ownership, commercialization, and dissemination of intellectual property rights in University technologies.

Reporting inventions or software: Governs protection of intellectual property developed at the University, along with procedures for reporting inventions or software.

Federal Bayh-Dole Act: Lets small businesses and nonprofit organizations, including universities, retain the title to inventions made under federally-funded research programs.

Required Instruction for Researchers

Guidelines for Maintaining Laboratory Notebooks: Helps researchers keep accurate, detailed, and up-to-date lab notebooks to prove inventorship and validity of research results.

Responsible Conduct of Research: Intellectual property education is part of the Responsible Conduct of Research core training required for new principal investigators.
