Updated Grants Management Program Aims to Launch April 2024

The University of Minnesota is modernizing grants management through a multi-year project called Minnesota Grants Electronic Management System (MN-GEMS). This new system will replace several aging grant administration systems while improving efficiency, reducing faculty administrative burden, and expanding capabilities for grantees. In response to requests from the research community, MN-GEMS will also add new functionality for proposal creation, award negotiation and setup, subaward management, and management of confidentiality, material transfer, and data use agreements.

MN-GEMS has advanced to the design and implementation phase with a current target launch date of April 2024. The project team will provide regular updates to the user community and stakeholders. Learn more about the timeline and advantages of the new system.
