Note: as of September 1, 2014, all new UROP stipends will be paid as scholarships rather than as payroll. Please check with Financial Aid to determine if this will affect your aid package for the year. Those who started under the old system will remain under the old system.
Proposals for UROP projects for Summer or Fall 2015 will be due by 11:59 p.m. February 23, 2015. Only one application may be submitted in each funding round. Notification for projects occurs 6-8 weeks after the deadline. Links for submitting your application, proposal and for faculty mentors to submit their recommendation forms are on the Everything UROP page.
The University of Minnesota Informatics Institute (UMII) will provide funding for up to 25 UROP projects that include significant informatics components. Applications are through the regular UROP process. Indicate on the application (Section D) whether your proposal should be considered for funding through UMII. For questions on what is appropriate research for these awards, please contact Claudia Neuhauser, Director, UMII.
