Brief Bio

I enjoy running and Nordic skiing.  I also play French horn in the University band.

Future Plans

I plan to attend graduate school for inorganic chemistry.

Why Research?

It's a great opportunity.  It's also a good way to get to know a few professors.

What Did I Get from Research?

I got to know the academic research process, which will be useful in grad school.

How Did I Start?

I was advised to take Directed Studies last semester.  Once the project for that class was done, I decided to apply for a UROP grant in order to explore a different aspect the project that I had been working on.

My Advice for Another Student:

Be persistent.  It can be hard to get in contact with some professors.

Research Summary

I synthesize titanium dioxide nanoparticles at different temperatures.  The particles are then analyzed to see if the particle size and crystalline phase of the particles changed as a result of this temperature variance.
