Q: Are UROPs limited to the Faculty Mentors and the projects listed in the UROP Opportunity Gallery?
A: No. The listings in the Opportunity Gallery are intended as examples. They are real potential potential projects and students interested in them are urged to contact the listed Faculty Mentor. However, UROP will carefully consider all proposals, regardless of whether the project or the Faculty Mentor is listed.
Q: Will UROP consider proposals for research outside the United States?
A: Yes. However, such proposals must be for research or creative activities. UROP will not support foreign travel or study abroad without a major research or creative component. A Faculty Mentor is required. If requested in the Proposal, the UROP expense allowance may be increased to as much as $1700 and the stipend correspondingly reduced. UROPs outside the United States may require consultation with the Study Abroad Office.
