Project Title: Leadership in Nonprofit Human Service Organizations
Research Description: I study the role that nonprofit organizations play in the implementation of social policy, particularly those policies focused on low-income families and their children. I'm interested in how policy systems and leadership influence what occurs within these organizations.UROP Project: I'm currently involved in a number of research projects that might be of interest. One project that focuses on two networks of human service organizations and gathers information through in-depth interviews and structured coding of documents; another is a state-wide representative survey of nonprofit organizations; finally, an examination of nonprofit leadership and ways of supporting and nurturing it. I would work with the student to identity which project might be the closest fit with there interests.
