Thomas K. Hutton has over 10 years’ experience in academic science, industrial product development and technology transfer. His broad experience has covered bench science to manufacturing processes, global platform leadership, intellectual property development and contract negotiation. Tom holds Bachelors and Doctoral degrees in chemistry from the University of Glasgow, UK, where he was recognized with several awards for outstanding academic achievement. He worked with the multinational food ingredient manufacturer Tate & Lyle PLC, starting as a research scientist and ultimately leading one of Tate’s global research platforms, responsible for research, development and commercialization of new product innovations. Prior to joining OTC, Tom was the Director, Corporate and New Ventures in the Purdue Research Foundation’s Office of Technology Commercialization, where he led a team responsible for protection and commercialization of intellectual property developed at Purdue University.
