What is the process for initiating a startup using a University technology?

The Venture Center recommends similar but separate startup processes designed for Researcher Entrepreneurs as well as External Entrepreneurs to the University of Minnesota.

How does the royalty income that I receive differ if my technology is commercialized as a start up versus a license to an existing company?

All income (whether from royalty or equity) is distributed according to Regent’s policy whether the technology is licensed to a startup company or to an existing company.

What service offerings does the University provide for startup candidates?

The University provides many services to entrepreneurs and startup entities through the Venture Center.
