The University’s Express Licensing system designed primarily for nurseries and commercial orchards who desire to license large quantities of a particular variety.

 

If you are a Gardener interested in planting just a few trees, you may want to learn where you can buy a tree, or have basic growing questions please see the University’s Apple site at www.apples.umn.edu.

The Honeycrisp Apple is one of the University of Minnesota's best apples. They are widely grown around the world. Millions have been sold to people who love the well-balanced sweet-tart taste, and explosively crisp, juicy texture.

 

The University has a wide range of intellectual property related to the Honeycrisp apple. Currently there are non-exclusive licenses available in the following territories* (Note: Other Territories maybe exclusively licensed):

 

(* If you are an US Nursery and may sell Trees for delivery in Canada, you will need a license from the University for its Canadian Plant Breeds Rights)

The University does not provide propagation material as part of the license. Licensee is responsible for acquiring the propagation materials from another source. It’s generally accepted practice to obtain propagation materials from another licensed nursery. However, the University’s Apple program does, from time to time, have limited quantities of propagation materials available. Please refer to www.apples.umn.edu for a list of licensed nurseries or to contact the University’s Apple program for assistance with propagation materials.

 

The University of Minnesota is accepting electronic signatures, if you require an original signature on the return document, please let us know in your email.

 

Any modifications to the License terms are subject to the current Agreement Modification Fee of the University of Minnesota.

 

If your institution requires a purchase order or other means of payment of if you have any questions regarding the licensing process, please e-mail otcagree@umn.edu. Please note that any licenses received with out payment will be returned to the proposed licensee.
