Notice of Grant Award (NOGA)
The sponsor makes an award to the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota on behalf of the Principal Investigator, not to the principal investigator directly.
Once the University has received an award notice from the sponsor, a SPA grant administrator will compare the actual award to the proposed budget and make appropriate corrections. If negotiation is not needed for items such as changes in the budget, and the PI has completed the education requirements, a grant administrator will set up the budget in the University's accounting system, and notify the PI and the department and collegiate offices via email.
SPA will send a copy the University NOGA to the PI. The PI is responsible for reviewing the University NOGA; it contains critical information on terms and conditions of the award. Contact SPA with questions.
