Thinking Ahead

You have a research idea and you have identified a possible sponsor. What's next?

In this module, we will review the policies, sponsor regulations, and steps all principal investigators (PIs) must consider while applying for funding, whether internal or external to the University. There will also be links to University resources: policies, definitions of terms, and systems used to prepare and submit proposals.

The "project initiation phase" is also referred to as the "proposal process". Both terms describe the series of necessary steps to apply for a sponsored project. Other terms and concepts related to the project initiation phase will be defined throughout this module.

You will need approximately 35 minutes to complete this module.
