University of Minnesota Attracts New Associate VP for Research Administration from Stanford

Pamela Webb, associate vice president for research and director of Sponsored Projects Administration

On Monday, July 9, Pamela Webb began her appointment at the University of Minnesota as the new associate vice president for research administration and director of Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA), replacing Ed Wink who is retiring at the end of the year.

Webb comes to the University of Minnesota from Stanford University where she served as senior director for the Office of Sponsored Research supporting approximately $975 million in research expenditures annually. In all, Webb has more than 20 years of experience in research administration from universities including Stanford, Northwestern, UCLA, and the University of California, Santa Barbara.

“Pamela's experience and leadership will build on the culture of service and support established during Ed Wink's tenure,” said Vice President for Research Tim Mulcahy. “As our new associate vice president and director of SPA, Pamela's commitment to provide outstanding service will help us move forward as we partner with the University community to reach our goal of becoming a top three public research university.”

“I'm delighted to be a part of the University of Minnesota,” said Webb. “I am excited to work with faculty, SPA staff, and the Vice President for Research to foster a flexible and responsive research administration enterprise, and to cultivate our reputation as a valued ally.”

Webb is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the University of California Management Institute.
