The Office of University Economic Development serves as the “Front Door & More” for economic development at the University of Minnesota, helping external partners to connect with the resources, services and expertise at the University and its system campuses. Learn more about UED

What we offer

UED offers a broad range of services to companies, both large and small, nonprofit organizations and other groups looking to partner with the U, including:

Research

License U technology, sponsor research, and access state-of-the-art research facilities and faculty.

Recruitment

Find research experts, employees, consultants and student interns.

Training

Access on-site training, industry seminars, certifications and many other opportunities for business professionals.

Resources

Access a state-wide network of centers, institutes and programs that offer research, product testing, consulting and/or other services.

Strategic action plan

In 2016 UED approved a strategic action plan that creates a framework for increasing statewide collaboration, partnership and economic opportunity.

Fellows ProgramFellows Program

The Economic Development Fellows Pilot Program assigns a collection of project managers to guide graduate students internship projects with small businesses.
